This page describes exactly which cookies and local storage mechanisms are used by Sentinel Briefing on sentinelbriefing.com. We have deliberately chosen to use no marketing or advertising cookies.
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website. Cookies allow information to be remembered between visits (session, preferences, etc.). Sentinel Briefing also uses the browser's localStorage — a similar mechanism that is never sent to the server and stays entirely local on your device.
| Name | Type | Category | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|---|
sentinel_session |
HTTP cookie (server) | Essential | 24 hours | Maintains the authentication session. Without this cookie, it is not possible to stay logged in. |
sentinel_lang |
localStorage | Essential | Persistent (until cleared) | Remembers your language preference (FR/EN) so you don't need to set it on each visit. |
sentinel_theme |
localStorage | Comfort | Persistent (until cleared) | Remembers your chosen visual theme (light or dark) to personalise the display. |
| Umami Analytics | No cookie | Anonymous analytics | N/A | Anonymous, aggregated usage statistics (pages visited, session duration). Umami sets no cookies, collects no personally identifiable data, and does not enable cross-site tracking. Natively GDPR-compliant. |
Sentinel Briefing uses none of the following:
Essential cookies are required for the Service to function and cannot be disabled. localStorage data (theme, language) can be cleared at any time via your browser's developer tools (F12 → Application → Local Storage).
You can also disable cookies in your browser settings. Note that disabling the session cookie will automatically log you out.
